VENICE LIDO – In a suggestive setting steeped in history, that of La Villa Il Nidiolo—a symbolic venue for years of the Venice Film Festival—the “EAT LIKE YOU TRAIN” event will take place today, organized by BeGreat, the platform that supports and promotes young Italian sporting talents. A Tavola! will be a sponsor of the evening because it firmly believes that healthy nutrition is the foundation of every success, especially for athletes, and that investing in young talent means shaping the guides and examples of tomorrow.

The evening, dedicated to the memory of Riccardo Cialfi, who believed in the project from the very beginning, will explore the deep connection between athletic preparation, nutrition, and performance, drawing a parallel with the world of art and cinema.

Voices of the Evening: Experience, Talent, and Future

The opening of the proceedings, entrusted to Carola Salvato and Enzo Argante, will invite guests to explore how “Nutrition and Cinema tell stories.” Argante will emphasize how the BeGreat platform will merge culture and art with sport, combining inspiration with concrete support.

Attorney Andrea Catizone, Advisor to the Minister of University and Research, will deliver institutional greetings, highlighting the role of sport as a source of inspiration and the need to join forces to support young talents. “We will have to work on a new cultural trend that links school/academic training to sport. Platforms like BeGreat are fundamental for promoting a model that unites institutions, businesses, and associations with the goal of providing concrete support to young people,” Catizone will explain.

The President of BeGreat, Attorney Prof. Giovanni Barbara, will reiterate the crucial role of athletes as promoters of values and “role models” for new generations, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and supporting talent.

Champions Compared: Experience On and Off the Field

The talk will feature a panel of champions and leading figures:

• Giuseppe Dossena, football legend and 1982 World Champion, will reflect on the responsibility of valuing talent and the centrality of nutrition for performance.
• Luigi Busà, gold medalist in karate at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, will share his experience on mental training and the importance of supporting the athletes’ journey.
• Filippo Magnini, world swimming champion, will discuss the challenges faced during his career and his nutritional routine, which made the difference in his athletic preparation.
• Representing the new generation, Greta De Salvia, a young BeGreat athlete in hurdles, will talk about her journey of balancing study and sport, emphasizing how determination, sacrifice, and proper nutrition are indispensable tools.

The Science Behind Performance

The event will devote ample space to the scientific aspect of sports nutrition, with contributions from professionals such as:

• Luca Di Tolla, sports biologist and nutritionist, will delve into the pillars of professional swimmers’ nutrition and the importance of a resilient mental approach to diet.
• Andrea Carolina Striglia, biologist and nutritionist for the women’s national football team, will speak about gender-specific sports nutrition.
• Andrea Castagnetti, biologist and expert in microbiology, will explore the link between microbiota and sporting performance.

The evening will conclude with a unique show cooking moment, where chef Luca Marchini will guide athletes Magnini, Busà, and De Salvia in preparing a dish, symbolizing the union between cuisine and athletic preparation.

A cinematic moment will pay tribute to the Festival context, with the screening of the trailer for the short film “Marta vuole giocare” (Marta wants to play), which addresses themes such as gender inclusion in sport, demonstrating once again how cinema can be a powerful vehicle for values.
